This winter, actress Arimura Kasumi (18) will have her first starring role on the big screen. The movie is titled “Gal Basara ~Sengoku Jidai wa Kengai Desu~” and is directed by Sato Futoshi (“Girl’s BOX,” “Majisuka Gakuen”).
Arimura just made her acting debut last year and has appeared in dramas such as “Hagane no Onna” and “SPEC.” She also appeared in the movie “Hankyu Densha” earlier this year.
“Gal Basara” is about a group of high school girls who suddenly travel back in time to the Sengoku period, where they are forced to grow up as they come face-to-face with a society in the midst of war. Arimura’s role will have her doing a sword fighting scene for the first time.
Besides “Gal Basara,” it has also been revealed that Arimura has a role in a drama series this fall, as well as another lead role for an untitled film that will begin shooting this winter.
