B’z guitarist Tak Matsumoto takes Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album

At the 53rd Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles on Sunday night, B’z member Tak Matsumoto earned the prize for Best Pop Instrumental Album, together with American guitarist Larry Carlton. The pair were chosen from the five nominees for their collaborative album "Take Your Pick," which was released worldwide last June.

It was also announced that pianist Mitsuko Uchida won in the category of Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (with Orchestra) for her performance of Mozart’s Piano Concertos Nos. 23 & 24 with The Cleveland Orchestra.

Kitaro, who has won a Grammy before, was nominated for Best New Age Album, but he lost in the end to Paul Winter Consort.
