God Eater: Burst is Japanese Gamers Monster Bash

Japanese gamers continue to gorge themselves on God Eater: Burst. For the second week in a row, Namco Bandai’s monster-hunter action game on the PSP has taken top billing on Media Create’s software sales charts for Japan, adding 61,834 more units to its quarter-million week-one tally.

Fallout: New Vegas hit the jackpot in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Perhaps more impressive is the debut of Bethesda Softworks and Obsidian Entertainment’s Western role-playing game Fallout: New Vegas. During its first week on the Japanese market, New Vegas sold 37,249 units on the PlayStation 3 and 24,146 copies on the Xbox 360, securing it a double-dipping fourth- and sixth-place finish. The week’s other new debut, Radiant Historia on the DS, slipped in between the pair at fifth with 32,807 units sold.
