		<description>The reason the process takes longer in the U.S. is that the situation is so different. It&#039;s easy in Japan because there are so few people who do it. If more people sought it, the process would become more selective and lengthier. It&#039;s not that Japan is trying to make it easy, but that they haven&#039;t had a reason to make it harder. If Japan were seeing a million immigrants a year, it&#039;d take longer here as well.</description>
