Car plows convenience store in Aichi, injuring 5

A car crashed into the front of a convenience store in Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture, on Monday, injuring five people.

According to police, the accident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. TBS reported that the car, driven by a 75-year-old man, pulled into the parking lot of a Lawson store and ran into the glass entrance, injuring three people inside the store, the driver and his passenger.

The driver was quoted by police as saying he mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, TBS reported.
