Idol group Morning Musume has just unleashed the dance shot PV for their new song, “The Matenrou Show”!
“The Matenrou Show” is the second A-side of their fiftieth single “One Two Three / The Matenrou Show”, and although the girls are wearing the same outfits as the PV for their song “One Two Three”, fans have been largely entertained by throwbacks to previous dances in Momusu’s latest video.
Former Morning Musume member Kago Ai (23) apparently attempted suicide this morning, it has been learned. She was found in her Roppongi apartment with a slit wrist and was taken to a nearby hospital, but fortunately, it is said that she is in a non-life-threatening condition.
Azabu police received an emergency call at around 11:55am on September 11. Kago was found in her apartment with a slit wrist, and it is said that she was in a stupor at the time. It is suspected that she may have consumed a large amount of drugs.
According to police, Kago had spoken over the phone with someone from her agency just before the incident. Her words suggested that she was contemplating suicide, so the person from the agency rushed to her apartment, where Kago was discovered on the floor.
The apparent suicide attempt comes just a few days after it was reported that her boyfriend, Ando Haruhiko (44), was arrested for attempted extortion on September 6. It is believed that Ando may be associated with the yakuza.
News outlets also reported that Kago was living with Ando, and she was present at the time he was arrested. Kago later underwent voluntary questioning by police regarding Ando’s case.
Former Morning Musume member Kago Ai (23) updated her blog with a lengthy entry on Tuesday, addressing an article in this week’s issue of Josei Jishin about her personal life and career. While Kago clarified that some of the reported statements are true, she also said that there are several parts that are untrue.
Josei Jishin’s article said that Kago was placed under suspension by her former management agency, Mainstream, stemming from her newest relationship. The man is said to be a restaurant manager in his 40s, whom she met last August. The two are currently said to be living together.
The man’s identity was further revealed to be an ex-boyfriend of singer Kahala Tomomi. There were reports last year that he committed domestic violence against Kahala, though those accusations have been denied.
Kago apparently had a conflict with Mainstream ever since she began dating the man, as she would cancel work at the last minute. As a result, the agency is said to have suspended her. In January, she reportedly asked for independence but was denied because her contract still had 2 more years remaining. She launched her new blog without approval from her agency, and she has even held performances without going through her management.
In her blog response to the various media reports on the matter, Kago acknowledged that she began having issues with Mainstream around last October, and an agreement could not be reached. In November, her lawyer legally dissolved her contract with the agency. Mainstream still had objections after that, but she says that negotiations are already over.
Kago did not give a clear statement about the man she is rumored to be dating, but she did say that he is one of many people who has been helping her with her ongoing transition to a new management office.
Near the end of her message, she also assured everyone that she would not betray her fans again, referring to the past scandals that have affected her career.
Morning Musume leader Ai Takahashi (24) will graduate from the group and Hello! Project at the end of Morning Musume’s fall tour, it has been announced. The news was delivered during the Hello! Project winter concert at Nakano Sun Plaza on Sunday.
Takahashi joined Morning Musume in August 2001 as a 5th generation member, which means that she has the most seniority out of the current members. She has also served as the group’s sixth leader since June 2007.
Morning Musume just added four members a week ago with its 9th generation, following the graduation of Eri Kamei, Junjun, and Linlin on December 15. Last summer, at the time it was decided that the three members would graduate, producer Tsunku told Takahashi that she should also think about the timing of her own graduation. As a result, she will continue her duties as leader while the new recruits ease into the group. At the end of Morning Musume’s fall tour, she will pass on the role of leader to Risa Niigaki (22).
Takahashi said that she plans to continue her music career, including stage shows and live performances.
