Ceremonial Wood From Iwate will be accepted and burned at Narita-san Temple

Fears over radioactivity had caused a Kyoto festival to abandon its plan to burn ceremonial wood from Iwate prefecture’s Rikuzen-Takata city. In the days since the intial fears, the bark has been removed from the wood, and it has been deemed as safe. There will be no dangerous radiation released when it burns. The people of Rikuzen-Takata will have their prayers answered. Chiba prefeture’s famous Narita-san temple has accepted the wood and the prayers. On September 25th, the wood will be burned during a memorial ceremony.
